We returned from Ido to Vastervik this morning as we are changing crew. Jane and Martha arrived by train this afternoon, and Hugh and Julia who have helped us up all the way from Kalmar are leaving tomorrow morning.

The plan now is to start our return journey so that Vastervik will be the most northern point of this year's cruise. Wherever we go people tell us of the things and places we must not miss, just a few more miles up the coast. But you can only see a small selection of these marvellous places and have to turn round sometime.
The prospect of sailing a thousand miles back home against the prevailing wind through complicated coastal waters is a little daunting but we look forward to the warm summer weather and gentle breezes.
